Asia Pacific University (APU) is a leading institution in Malaysia, focused on enhancing student experiences through smart technology. They needed an automated dorm energy management system that allowed students to top-up electricity independently, quickly, and securely.
🎯 Why the System Was Built
Manual electricity top-ups were inconvenient for students and staff.
Students needed a self-service, cashless top-up method.
APU required a secure, integrated solution within their own mobile ecosystem.
Needed real-time synchronization with smart meters to avoid delays and disputes.
🚀 Our Solution: QR-Based Smart Meter Top-Up System
QR Code Smart Meter Access: Each room has a unique QR code; students scan to access and top up their meter quota.
Seamless Web App Integration: We developed a web app fully embedded in APU’s mobile app, ensuring smooth user flow.
Single Sign-On (SSO) Integration: APU handles user login and securely passes data to our system; we generate a signed URL for direct, verified access.
Flexible Top-Up Options: Students choose from preset amounts (RM10, RM20, RM50, RM100) to suit their energy needs.
Dual Payment Methods: Supports both Payment Gateway (credit/debit cards, FPX) and APcard (APU’s internal e-wallet).
Real-Time Payment & Meter Update: Once payment is verified, smart meters are updated instantly — no delays.
