JomGuide.my publishes practical guides for Malaysian readers, covering money, policy, current topics, food and travel. Its editorial approach focuses on helping readers understand a subject and identify their next step, with English and Chinese editions serving different reading preferences. About JomGuide

For a growing publication, the website needs to support more than its latest article. Readers should be able to find a topic, search for a specific question and return to useful guides after they leave the homepage.

What we built

Optimum Technology developed JomGuide as a Laravel-based content platform with a shared editorial backend and a bilingual frontend. The structure connects everyday publishing work with the ways readers discover and consume information.

Key elements include:

  • Five clear editorial sections. Jom Money, Jom Explain, Jom Trending, Jom Food and Jom Travel provide recognisable starting points for different interests.

  • English and Chinese editions. Language navigation and dedicated article URLs support both editions within one platform.

  • Search and article browsing. Readers can look for a specific subject or explore the wider content library through category pages and the article archive.

  • An editorial homepage. Latest articles, selected reads and topic sections provide several routes into the publication.

  • Structured article layouts. Author information, publication dates, reading-time estimates, headings, tables and checklists support detailed guides. Sharing controls help readers pass useful articles to others. See an article example

  • CMS and metadata management. The backend brings article content, language versions, categories and SEO fields into the publishing workflow.

These elements give the editorial team a consistent framework for adding new content while keeping the frontend organised.

The outcome

JomGuide has a publishing platform where content remains accessible through topic navigation, search and language selection. The homepage introduces current material, while the archive and category structure give older guides a continuing place within the site.

The project brings together two needs: a reading experience that helps visitors find relevant information, and a manageable content structure for the team producing it.
